Dark Comedy
Severed Ties: Lethe
Middle Grade (ages 10+)
Sever is trapped in a dead end job—literally. As a certified reaper for the Department of Terminated Beings his sole purpose is to guide people to the Afterlife, and it’s slowly killing him (well, it would be if he weren’t already dead).
One day, Sever is paired with a kind old man named, Leamon; his only task: to get Leamon to the Afterlife. No problem. Sever’s done this a million times before. There just one problem—Leamon doesn’t have any memories, and without them he can’t pass on.
Now Sever must help Leamon recover his lost memories before the workweek ends or risk losing his job, his friends, the woman he loves, and everything he’s ever dreamed of.

About the Author
Gabriel Shields
Author
During his childhood, Gabriel Q.A. Shields dined with wizards, burglars, and exiles in exquisite holes in the ground, sought the hidden wisdom of ancient kings, explored the forgotten depths of forbidden wardrobes, and discovered sacred swords in lost, enchanted woods. And what he discovered is, that if we are to successfully steal past our watchful dragons, we need the right hero and the right story to guide us.
Gabriel writes for aspiring heroes (both big and small), who just need the right story to arise—ones who long to adventure in spirit and in truth, yearning for a free, green country, and willing to stare down dragons to ensure it.
When he’s hung up his pen and shield, you can find Gabriel mentoring youth or spending quality time with his wife and children (usually exploring hidden trails).
